Clearwater Offers Summer Sessions

This summer, 2008, the Clearwater School offers a three-part summer session, open to new and continuing students. As with the regular session, activities will emerge according to student interests. In addition to all of our usual school-year activities, we anticipate lots of swimming field trips, spontaneous off-campus outings, plus new on-campus activities inspired by summertime.

Three, three-week sessions will be offered. Students may enroll in one, two, or all three sessions, with an option to attend single weeks or single days on a space-available basis.
Session 1: June 23 - July 11, 2008
Session 2: July 21 - August 8, 2008
Session 3: August 11 - August 29, 2008

Fees are:
$400 for each three-week session
$150 for one week, if space is available and arranged in advance
$35 per day, if space is available and arranged in advance

Student bus service now available from Seattle

The Clearwater School now offers daily bus service to our campus throughout the school year to students who live in Seattle. Families who are interested in enrolling their children at The Clearwater School, but cannot drive them to and from school every day, now have the option of signing up for bus service and paying a monthly rider fee. Information Sessions

Throughout the year, The Clearwater School hosts information sessions at our new North Creek location, 1510 196th St. SE, Bothell WA 98012, where you can learn about Clearwater and the Sudbury school model on which we are based. There will be a short presentation followed by a question and answer period. Refreshments are provided. Children are welcome, although childcare is not provided. Check the Events calendar for specific dates and times.

Clearwater Commons Seeks New Members

In 2006, several families from The Clearwater School joined together to purchase 7.4 acres across the street from the school and named it Clearwater Commons. The site includes wetlands, wooded spaces and a salmon stream and will house a low-impact, intentional residential community with 16 households, a common house, shared shop, gardens and open space. Groundbreaking is planned for spring 2008.

Inspired by but not directly affiliated with The Clearwater School, Clearwater Commons welcomes individuals and families who share a commitment to community creation, habitat restoration and sustainable living. The Commons seeks new members and has several units for sale. For more information, go to the website.
